BioSignia Names Medical Consultant

Research Triangle Park, N.C., (November 8, 2005) - BioSignia is pleased to announce the addition of George Mayzell, MD as Medical Consultant.  Dr. Mayzell is a Board Certified internist and Geriatrician with over 10 years of direct patient care experience and 15 years of Health Industry leadership.

He has been directly involved with Medical Management activities including Disease Management, Utilization Management, Appeals and Grievances, Case Management, Pharmacy Benefit Design, and Contracting.  He has also had direct experience with Incentive Programs (Pay for Performance), Delivery Strategies, Medicare Initiatives, Risk Arrangements, and Injectiable/Biological Management.

Dr. Mayzell has spent most of his administrative career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida and more recently at The Shands Healthcare System. Shands is a 9-hospital system affiliated with the University Of Florida College Of Medicine.
